PVTrans Plays an Important Role in the Petrovietnam Ecosystem

That was the affirmation of Mr. Le Manh Hung – General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) at the Conference on Summary of Production and Business (SXKD) in 2023, Deploying Plan Tasks for 2024 and Labor Conference of PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans, MCK: PVT), held on the morning of December 27, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City.

Reporting to the Conference, PVTrans’ Board of Directors said that since the beginning of 2023, the maritime transport market has been constantly fluctuating, recording strong differentiation between transport segments. Domestically, the economy has gradually recovered, leading to an increase in demand for gasoline consumption to serve production, business and transportation activities, creating favorable conditions for PVTrans’ production and business activities. Faced with a situation of mixed difficulties and advantages, PVTrans has proactively and flexibly proposed many solutions to take advantage of market opportunities, while overcoming difficulties, maintaining stable, safe and effective production and exceeding production and business plan targets.

Specifically, in 2023, PVTrans is estimated to achieve revenue of VND 9,600 billion, equivalent to 141% of the annual plan; Pre-tax profit is estimated at VND 1,460 billion, equivalent to 215% of the annual plan; After-tax profit is estimated at VND 1,172 billion, equivalent to 218% of the annual plan; State budget contribution is estimated at VND 486 billion, equivalent to 164% of the annual plan; Profit after tax/Charter capital ratio is 45%, equivalent to 237% of the annual plan. PVTrans has also resolutely directed the implementation of production and business tasks so that all member units operate stably and effectively.

During the year, PVTrans invested in purchasing and leasing a total of 12 ships, bringing the total number of ships in the fleet to 51 with a total tonnage of nearly 1.4 million DWT. The increasingly improved scale and quality of assets will bring competitive advantages, meeting the needs of stable and sustainable development of PV Trans in the coming time.

Reporting on the implementation of the Collective Labor Agreement, labor regulations, and democratic regulations at PVTrans, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thinh – Chairman of the Trade Union said that in 2023, PVTrans employees were guaranteed stable jobs and income, with an average income higher than the previous year, reaching 26.9 million VND/person/month, an increase of 8% compared to 2022. With a workforce of approximately 2,500 people, PVTrans has always strived to build many welfare policies, taking care of the material and spiritual life of employees and their families, ensuring that employees have a strong mindset, peace of mind at work, maintaining stability and continuity for production and business activities. PVTrans also actively implements many social security activities to share the responsibility of the enterprise with the community and follow the orientation and direction of the Group.

At the Conference, Mr. Pham Viet Anh – Chairman of the Board of Directors, on behalf of PVTrans’s Board of Directors, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Group’s leaders, including General Director Le Manh Hung personally, for their attention, direction and support to PVTrans during the past time. To maintain a stable and sustainable growth rate, Mr. Pham Viet Anh emphasized that in the context of an unpredictable market and intertwined challenges and opportunities in 2024, PVTrans’s Board of Directors will strive to improve governance, synchronize the management apparatus, and human resources in accordance with the scale of the Corporation’s assets; continue to promote the building of corporate culture, promoting the unique cultural identity of PVTrans employees. In parallel with improving the capacity of the fleet in the international market, PVTrans will also step up the search for opportunities to participate in the domestic logistics supply chain, while enhancing its position in the service chain of the entire Group.

On behalf of the leadership of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Petrovietnam General Director Le Manh Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of PVTrans; at the same time, affirmed that PVTrans has an important role in the Petrovietnam ecosystem. Mr. Le Manh Hung emphasized that in the context of economic difficulties and fierce market competition, PVTrans has maintained a balanced business structure and investment activities, achieved impressive business results in terms of revenue and profit, and contributed greatly to the overall achievements of the service sector of the whole Group.
Agreeing with the 2024 operating plan set forth by PVTrans’ Board of Directors, General Director Le Manh Hung also oriented and suggested a number of key solutions. According to the Project to build and develop Petrovietnam into a leading energy industry group in the country and the region, in line with new development trends, especially the trend of energy transition, General Director Le Manh Hung suggested that PVTrans should set long-term goals in its overall development strategy, clearly affirming its role and position in the maritime transport market, logistics supply chain in the country, region and the world; build an investment portfolio and strategy to serve that development goal; At the same time, it sets out a new development motivation to maximize the resources of the entire PVTrans ecosystem and integrate into the common ecosystem of the entire Group. Petrovietnam always supports and believes that PVTrans will continue to promote the achieved results, successfully implement the 2024 plan and reap many new successes.

At the conference, PVTrans Corporation was honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises. At the same time, to recognize, honor and reward the efforts of employees, PVTrans’s Board of Directors solemnly expressed gratitude to the most outstanding collectives and individuals in 2023. Of which, 6 collectives and 6 individuals received certificates of merit from the General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. The PVTrans Corporation’s Trade Union was honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union.

Petrovietnam Board of Directors member Pham Tuan Anh and Petrovietnam Deputy General Director Phan Tu Giang presented Certificates of Merit from the Group’s General Director to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
