At the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2023, held on October 5, 2023, PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) was once again recognized in the “Corporate Excellence Award” category. At the same event, Mr. Pham Viet Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVTrans, was honored with the “Master Entrepreneur Award.”
This proud achievement marks the fourth time that PVTrans has been recognized in these two prestigious categories, which celebrate outstanding enterprises and exemplary business leaders. The awards stand as a testament to PVTrans’s unwavering commitment to sustainable growth and to Mr. Pham Viet Anh’s leadership and contributions in driving the Corporation’s success and making meaningful impacts within the community.
Throughout its 21-year development journey, PVTrans has consistently maintained its position as Vietnam’s leading shipping company, upholding a reputation for professionalism, stability, and strong operational capacity. These strengths have enabled the Corporation to overcome challenges, capitalize on market opportunities, and sustain steady growth over the past decade.
In 2022, despite a volatile global shipping market impacted by geopolitical conflicts and fluctuations in crude oil prices, PVTrans achieved remarkable business growth thanks to its strategic vision and flexible business approach. The Corporation recorded total consolidated revenue of VND 9,577 billion, representing a 24% increase, and consolidated pre-tax profit of VND 1,457 billion, up 40% year-on-year — exceeding the planned targets by 47% and 143%, respectively.
In 2023, amid a challenging and volatile market environment, PVTrans implemented a range of flexible and adaptive solutions with a strategic focus on fleet rejuvenation and capacity enhancement. This effort has been demonstrated by the continuous acquisition of new vessels in recent periods, bringing the total number of owned and operated ships to 49, with a combined tonnage of approximately 1.3 million DWT. The fleet is diversified across various segments — including crude oil tankers, oil/chemical tankers, LPG carriers, bulk carriers, and FSO units — enabling PVTrans to effectively meet market demands and maintain operational resilience.
During the first eight months of 2023, PVTrans continued to record positive growth, achieving total revenue of VND 5,998 billion and consolidated pre-tax profit of VND 899 billion, representing increases of 2% and 17%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Alongside sustainable business development, PVTrans remains committed to its corporate social responsibility toward both employees and the community. The Corporation ensures stable employment and comprehensive welfare policies, prioritizes occupational safety and environmental protection, and actively participates in social security and community programs with profound humanitarian values — contributing to shared prosperity and a sustainable future.
Although the APEA 2023 has concluded, the echoes of its achievements have ignited a renewed spirit within PVTrans — inspiring the Corporation to continue advancing its sound and flexible development strategy, proactively adapt to market fluctuations, successfully fulfill the 2023 business objectives, and confidently stride forward on the journey to conquer new heights in the future.
